AURORAGOLD, or how the NSA monitors your mobile phone

AURORAGOLD

AURORAGOLD is an ultra-secret mission carried out by the American government agency NSA, its role being to give Americans access to monitor any mobile phone network around the globe. Thanks to Eduard Snowden, the NSA's plans to monitor mobile phone networks around the globe have been revealed and it seems that the American agency currently has the data and technology needed to monitor approximately 70% of the mobile phone networks on the planet.

Codenamed AURORAGOLD, the covert operation has monitored the content of messages sent and received by more than 1,200 email accounts associated with major cellphone network operators, intercepting confidential company planning papers that help the NSA hack into phone networks. One high-profile surveillance target is the GSM Association, an influential UK-headquartered trade group that works closely with large US-based firms including Microsoft, Facebook, AT&T, and Cisco, and is currently being funded by the US government to develop privacy- enhancing technologies.

In order to obtain information regarding the infrastructure and technologies of the mobile phone networks on the planet, those from NSA they monitored the emails sent by their employees and took over the relevant documents for their mission. In this idea, the NSA managed in 2011 to provide the American army with vital information before the attacks on Libya, but of course that AURORAGOLD it is not limited to a single American invasion.

AURORAGOLD and the NSA plan to spy on the whole world

AURORAGOLD is based on two groups within the NSA, one called the Wireless Portfolio Management Office and one called the Target Technology Trends Center, both of which provide the necessary information to exploit almost any mobile phone network on the planet. With the help of this information, the NSA managed to spy on dozens of aliens on Earth, some of them US allies, and of course they took over a diverse range of confidential information.

The AURORAGOLD operation is carried out by specialist NSA surveillance units whose existence has not been publicly disclosed: the Wireless Portfolio Management Office, which defines and carries out the NSA's strategy for exploiting wireless communications, and the Target Technology Trends Center, which monitors the development of new communication technology to ensure that the NSA isn't blindsided by innovations that could evade its surveillance reach.

Practically, over the years, the NSA has managed to develop specialized structures to give it access to almost any type of network, be it mobile or internet, and the numerous criticisms brought by its allies did not stop it from fulfilling their missions. You can find additional information about the AURORAGOLD operation to this American publication and you will find out how the NSA can intercept your conversations, including from Romania.
