Apple designed and manufactured some of the materials used in the construction of Apple Campus 2

Apple Campus 2 is the name given to the future campus that the Apple company is currently building in Cupertino, it will be opened at the end of next year or in 2017. For the project Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it invested 3 billion dollars and hired a lot of construction companies, but it seems that it produces certain materials itself. According to new information, the designers of the Apple company they conceived a good part of the objects that the buildings will have, but also some materials used for their construction.

More precisely, Ive and his team designed 4000 chisels that form the floors, the ceiling and part of the interstitial space of one of the 4-story buildings of Apple Campus 2. For their production, Apple built a special factory near its future campus, they will then be arranged according to Ive's instructions. Separately, Jony Ive proposed certain changes in the way the interior of some buildings is designed, he also worked on his own house with some of the builders.

For other buildings, Jony Ive's industrial design team designed the interior stairs, the signs that will be placed in the buildings, and the area where the visitors will be received. Because the Apple design team has such an important role within the company, it will occupy a space of 10.000 square meters after the completion of Apple Campus 2. This entire space is also arranged by them, so that they will have the perfect ambience to create great future products for the hundreds of millions of Apple fans around the world.
