Apple and the serious problem that affected HUNDREDS of millions of people

App Store hero

Yesterday was one of the black days in the history of Apple and that's because for almost 12 hours its most important online services were down for all iDevice/Mac owners with Apple ID. The entire iTunes Store ecosystem could not be used for anything other than viewing the content available in it, the attempt to download any product being met with error messages. Apple apologized for the problems and stated that they are based on an erroneous configuration of the internal DNS of its servers, and this affected hundreds of millions of people.

This is the first time in the existence of iCloud when its basic services cannot be accessed for such a long period of time and the Apple company has received numerous criticisms from dissatisfied users. Considering that Apple has hundreds of millions of people using its services, some of them relying on them for a living, the problems should not have happened. The even more comical part is that not even the Apple Stores could use the standard methods of collecting money, so they removed "antique" devices from their warehouses to be able to authorize customer payments.

Apart from the explanation offered last night, the Apple company has not detailed the reasons behind such serious problems with its services and probably will not do so again in the near future. Unfortunately, these problems happen, they are understandable, but the users' revolt is justified.
