Tim Cook talks about avoiding paying taxes

Tim Cook talks about the accusations of tax evasionAlmost annually the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is accused of avoiding paying taxes in the US for the receipts registered in various areas of the globe, most of the money generated by Apple being in bank accounts outside the US.

In an interview that Tim Cook speaking to CBS, the CEO of Apple claims that all these accusations have a political nature and that in reality the Apple company pays more taxes than any of the companies registered on the American territory, although some have higher revenues.

Apple is accused of deliberately keeping its money in accounts outside the US to avoid paying taxes to the US government, two-thirds of the total amounts registered by those in Cupertino being available for various subsidiaries in a variety of countries.

Although it pays more taxes than any other company in the US, Apple also has more money abroad than any other company in the US, but Tim Cook claims that Apple would lose 40% of that money if it decided to bring it to the US and to pay taxes for them.

The truth is that there is no company or person who would voluntarily give up 40% of their money just to pay taxes to the government of the country where they have their headquarters, so I don't know who could criticize Apple's decision to keep the money there where they want

In this idea, Tim Cook will never make the decision to bring Apple's money back to the US to pay the taxes that the US government demands, but the US government has negotiated tax breaks with various companies just to bring some money back and collect something to the state budget.
