This is how intensively Microsoft monitors Windows users

microsoft data collectionMicrosoft is the company that owns the most used operating system on the planet, over 80% of global PC users use its operating system in their daily lives, without knowing what Microsoft knows about them.

In a recent article published on the company's official blog, Microsoft provided some statistics on how users use Windows 10 the new operating system, but they revealed in reality how closely they monitor people.

Those from Microsoft provided information regarding the number of hours of use of Windows 10, the number of minutes of use for Microsoft Edge, the number of questions asked to the Cortana system, the number of pictures viewed with the native application of Windows 10, the number of hours spent in games installed in Windows 10 and many others.

Normally some of this data should not be visible to Microsoft, especially those regarding native applications and their usage by PC users, but Microsoft is more interested in this kind of data than the privacy of the users.

Basically, Microsoft knows almost everything that people do on their PC, regardless of which version of Windows they have installed, and the information provided publicly by the company contradicts its claims regarding the importance given to the privacy of PC users.

Probably those from Microsoft assumed all these criticisms only in the idea of being able to boast of a high adoption rate for Windows 10 and a higher degree of use for the new operating system, but in the long term this will seriously affect.

The Apple company has not yet provided this kind of information about OS X, but if Microsoft continues to brag, I think that those from Apple will also start doing it, because they surely monitor OS X in a similar way.
