Facebook has made major changes to the News Feed

Facebook has announced a major change for the News Feed in which the new information from friends and the pages we follow are displayed, they are part of the general changes that the Facebook company constantly makes for its social network.

The purpose of this change is to to display much more relevant information user in News Feed, the Facebook company focusing on two new news selection factors that are displayed at the top of the News Feed of global users.

These two new factors have statistics regarding the probability that a user will be interested in the information that is displayed to him, but also regarding the probability that the user will interact with that information through like, share or comment.

Facebook claims that it has carried out complex studies to find out what people's interests are and what is the chance that they will like a certain news and interact with it, so this change is also based on the results of these studies carried out in the social network.

We are making an update to News Feed that combines these two signals. News Feed will begin to look at both the probability that you would want to see the story at the top of your feed and the probability that you will like, comment on, click or share a story. We will rank stories higher in feed which we think people might take action on, and which people might want to see near the top of their News Feed.

Basically, Facebook tries to guess what information users would like to see in the News Feed in order to interact with them, but it remains to be seen whether or not its algorithms will have the ability to guess exactly what users want to see.
