Telekom Romania a concluded a national roaming agreement with Orange and offers its customers 4G and 4G+ services at a higher level

Telekom Romania announces a major step in its mobile broadband strategy, as a result of a national roaming agreement concluded with Orange Romania. Based on this agreement, Telekom Romania customers will be able to use the Orange 4G/4G+ network, benefiting from extended coverage and superior quality for 4G and 4G+ services.

The national roaming agreement between Telekom Romania Mobile Communications SA and Orange Romania SA covers 4G and 4G+ data services, as well as voice services via the LTE network, offering Telekom customers a superior experience in using mobile broadband services. Thus, Telekom Romania customers will be able to enjoy 4G and 4G+ communication technologies even when they are not in the coverage area of Telekom Romania Mobile's 4G network. This will be possible by using the Orange 4G/4G+ network, which covers 72% of the national population and 96% of the urban population. Switching from one network to another will be seamless and will not incur any additional cost to users.

The benefits of this project will allow Telekom Romania to continue investing in regions currently not covered and to promote competitive offers and services, to the advantage of customers.

Through this initiative, Telekom Romania strengthens its broadband service offer through a significant advance of 4G communication services, in addition to the cutting-edge FTTx technology that offers customers Internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps and the best television services.

Independent of the national roaming agreement, Telekom Romania and Orange Romania have also signed an access contract to Telekom's fixed urban fiber optic network. It allows Orange to enter the market of fixed communications services and offer its customers high-speed fixed Internet as well as improved TV services.

The format of these projects, which are based on the two contracts, allows Telekom Romania and Orange Romania to continue to compete independently on the market, in accordance with their own commercial policies and business strategies.

More details on the commercial offers that are based on the national roaming agreement will be communicated in the next period.
