India can crack Apple iPhones

Hacking Apple's iPhones is extremely difficult at the moment because American terminals have security measures that prevent amateurs from gaining access to the data stored by users in normal use of the devices.

Indians are not among these amateurs, and in a recent interview the Minister of Telecommunications of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad, stated that his country has software that allows it to hack Apple iPhones without even putting in that much effort.

He admitted that he followed the legal dispute between Apple and the FBI regarding the security of iDevices and says that accessing data is not as easy as it seems, but even so the ministry he leads has invested in a software that provides access to Apple products.

Of course, the minister of telecommunications did not provide details about the vulnerabilities that this software exploits to facilitate access to Apple's iOS, and those in Cupertino have little chance of finding out how the Indians get access to their operating system.

Smartphones including phones by Apple employ strong encryption to secure the data stored and to protect the communication. Such Encryption technologies pose challenges to Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the world including India. As part of this program, a tool for Mobile forensics has been developed, which handles smartphones including Apple phones.

India is one of the countries where the Apple company is trying to increase its sales of iPhone terminals, and this disclosure will not in any way affect the intentions of those from Cupertino to sell more smartphones in the country.
