Apple is preparing to drop the i from product names

Last week I talked to you about the fact that Apple products are too complex, a former close friend of Steve Jobs, Ken Segall, explaining that Apple's products have far too complicated and confusing names, and this is a major problem for consumers.

Ken Segall was the one who first introduced the i in the name of an Apple product, iMac being the product in question, and from there Steve Jobs took the name to iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iOS, iPod Touch, iPad, etc. but the days of i are numbered.

Ken Segall is of the opinion that Apple will give up the i's in the names of its products and a man with so much experience in marketing and advertising should know what he is talking about, so he can give him credence in relation to the plans of the Apple company.

Segall claims that Apple will drop the i from the name of the products, but that this change cannot be made overnight by those in Cupertino, so it will be some time until the i is completely removed from the products and software distributed by Apple.

Once upon a time, Apple's product naming was extremely simple. Computers were Macs and consumer products were i-devices. Now the consumer products are offered as i-things and Apple-things (Apple Watch, Apple Pay, Apple Music). But we'll give Apple a pass on this one because the i is obviously on its last legs, and a transition like this doesn't happen overnight.

What will replace the Apple i in the name of its products, no one knows, but the first sign that it is on the way to extinction was given by the fact that the Apple Watch was not called the iWatch, and future products could have the same change from Apple.
