In iOS 10 Apple has implemented a different way to unlock iDevices, effectively eliminating slide to unlock, the new system requires pressing the Home button to unlock from the lock screen, although normally a simple press of the Home button does this automatically for us.
Because many people complained about this change, Apple implemented a function called Rest Finger to unlock, it being available starting with iOS beta 10 2, but currently non-functional, its activation allowing the unlocking of iDevices with Touch ID by simply pressing the ring that surrounds the Home button.
Activating this function still leads to the deactivation of another important system that many of you probably don't know about, this one allows unlocking iDevices without leaving the LockScreen, the functionality providing access to the data from our terminals even for Siri or other applications that normally they would not have access.
To strengthen user safety, Apple offers the option to block access to data from LockScreen for Siri or other applications, this system being useful for those who fear that their terminals could be stolen and thieves could access photos or other data important stored in their terminals.
In iOS 10, we have the option to facilitate the access of these applications to data by simply pressing Touch ID from the LockScreen, the terminals unlocking without entering the main applications screen, and in the upper part you will no longer see a lock, but a text which displays the word Unlocked, suggesting that the terminals have been unlocked.
By unlocking the iDevices from the LockScreen we will be able to use Siri, or the Camera application with access to the entire photo library, but we will also be able to see information in widgets that normally iOS would restrict for security reasons, the idea of those from Apple being very good and extremely useful.
This system will be necessary for a lot of people who will want to take full advantage of the widgets for iOS 10, so you will have to familiarize yourself with it from now on, if you have this operating system installed.
