iPhone 7 would have had weaker sales than iPhone 6S

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus would have had weaker sales than iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, according to those from GfK Germany.

iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus would have recorded sales approximately 25% lower than those of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, according to GFK Germany. They would have had discussions with Apple's partners and would have asked them about the stocks of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals in the distribution channel and would have learned that sales would have been lower than last year's.

Those from GFK would have reached the same conclusion even last year, after having checked the distribution channels of those from Apple, even though Apple had announced official figures then. In this idea, the information from GFK is not 100% real because it is not strictly based on sales made by Apple, but on data provided by third parties.

The information discovered by GFK Germany also contradicts that discovered by a website that monitors all active iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch terminals around the world. They found out that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sales would be higher than those of their predecessors, and this without taking into account the terminals that had not been activated at the time of the checks.

Even if the information from GFK were true, the Apple company made it clear that this year it would not be able to reach last year's record due to reduced stocks for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The demand for both terminals was very high, including in Romania, and those from Apple could not cope with honoring the orders.

If apple would have had sufficient stocks of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals, then it would certainly have had higher sales than last year. Without being able to honor all iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus orders from 60 countries in 2 weeks, Apple cannot boast of records, but only of a typical new launch for it.

"According to a GfK note, AAPL iPhone units show that launch weekend sales for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were down by ~25% Y/Y compared to the first weekend of the 6S and 6Plus."

Having said that, it is unlikely that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will not have reached at least 13 million units sold during the launch weekend, even with very low stocks.
