Facebook offers new masks for pictures and temporary messages

The Facebook company is once again preparing to copy some of the functions that the Snapchat application has been offering to users around the world for some time. More precisely, we are talking about masks and filters that can be applied over the faces or pictures of users, or about messages that are temporarily visible within his social network.

Facebook has so far tested these functions with a small number of users, but starting today it has expanded the number of people who have them available. This is the clearest move by Facebook to copy Snapchat, the company has so far avoided implementing such functions in the main application, although it has offered them in third-party applications.

With the new functionality, Facebook allows users to apply various masks to their faces when taking pictures or videos, which is exactly what Snapchat has been offering for years. Moreover, various filters can be applied over the entire photo recorded by users, they have not yet been offered in such a way in the Facebook application.

Regarding the validity, Facebook allows the sharing of these pictures and video clips in conversations with friends, they being deleted when the conversation ends. If the picture or video clip is shared, but the conversation does not start within a maximum of 24 hours, it is automatically deleted from the chat window and will no longer be accessible.

Many people appreciate these features of Snapchat, they help the company grow to 150 million daily users worldwide. The Facebook company tried to buy Snapchat a few years ago, but failed, and now they are copying all its main functions to try to make it irrelevant, but it remains to be seen if it will succeed.

It is not known when these new functions will be offered to Facebook users around the world, but probably those from Facebook will rush to offer everything for the entire network.
