The Galaxy S8 has no 4K screen, no Home button

The Galaxy S8 will not have a 4K screen and no Home button, Samsung intending to use a 2K screen and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

The rumors regarding the implementation of a 4K screen in Galaxy S8 seem to be false, according to some information that appeared during this day, Samsung intending to implement a 2K screen. All the top Android smartphones have 2K screens, or 1440p more precisely, at the moment with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and those from Samsung will continue the trend.

Although it was rumored that the implementation of a 4K screen in the Galaxy S8 would be related to the fact that Samsung would intend to offer a better virtual reality experience, this is not happening. The very high energy consumption of this type of screens would prevent Samsung from adopting them, the Koreans not wanting to implement a battery large enough to support it.

In this idea, Samsung will continue the trend of recent years and will continue to offer a "2K" resolution screen for the Galaxy S8, to the disappointment of many. The reality is that a 4K screen would also require much more powerful hardware, so the final experience could have seriously suffered due to the implementation of such a high resolution.

The Galaxy S8 has no 4K screen, no Home button

Apart from the lack of this 4K screen, the Samsung company intends to leave the Galaxy S8 without a Home button, a trend that even Apple would like to adopt. It seems that Samsung's partners have not received orders for such a dedicated component for the Galaxy S8, and from this the conclusion was drawn that this component will not be present in the future product.

There are Android smartphones with virtual home buttons, so we're not talking about anything new here, but the Galaxy S8 could have an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Qualcomm presented a short time ago a perfect one for Samsung and it could be integrated under the Galaxy S8 screen to allow fingerprint scanning.

"Supply chain message, S8 does not use 4K screen, 2K screen continues, but the use of new materials is determined. In addition, there is no suppliers receive orders for the Home key components, which means S8 really want to cancel the physical Home button."

The Galaxy S8 is to be presented by the Samsung company at the end of February, with the official launch most likely to take place in March.
