A dual SIM iPhone is presented by the Apple company in an invention patent that was registered during this day, fulfilling many wishes of its fans. Apple fans have been asking for a dual SIM iPhone for years and years, and now the Apple company seems to be ready to at least offer the idea of launching a smartphone of this kind for customers.
We are talking about a patent filed for registration in April 2015, describing a newer technology to implement dual SIM functionality in an iPhone. With such a smartphone, the Apple company would allow customers to use two different cards in a single iPhone and fulfill many dreams.
Apple has been working for several years to eliminate SIM cards from smartphones, so the idea of a dual SIM iPhone could have a completely different connotation. More precisely, Apple could allow this functionality to be offered without the need to insert any SIM card into an iPhone, everything being done automatically by iOS and the terminal's modem chip.

You can see in the image below one of the drawings that the Apple company included in its patent describing this dual SIM iPhone. It would not be difficult to believe that this product could ever be transformed into reality, especially since it would not be difficult for Apple to launch such a product on the market, if it had the cooperation of its partners.

Furthermore, wireless communication technology has evolved from voice-only communications to also include the transmission of data, such as Internet and multimedia content. Adoption of a new generation wireless technology may be a gradual process, during which one or more previous generations of a similar technology may co-exist with the new generation technology."
However, considering that we are talking about a patent, the information must be viewed very circumspectly, at least for now. From the patent to the launch of a final product is an extremely long way, so we may never see such a product developed by the Apple company on the market.
