iPhone 8 – Apple could make it almost impossible to repair

iPhone 8 it could be extremely difficult to repair if Apple decides to do it as it has been said so far, i.e. by using glass for its case as well. In the morning I presented you an image with device used by Apple to repair and calibrate iPhone terminals in stores, as it is not available at third-party GSM services with the same functions.

Anticipating the launch of the iPhone 8 and what it will bring, some third-party services are discussing the fact that the new smartphone could be almost impossible to repair by them. They say that similar devices could be needed to replace the iPhone 8 case, or recalibrate the screen, or change various other components integrated by Apple.

In this idea, the idea of "monopolization" of iPhone repairs is now being discussed with the launch of iPhone 8 on global markets. If Apple will design the terminal so that only the devices in its stores can repair it, then the iPhone 8 will have to be taken only to the authorized services, otherwise the third parties could only damage it and nothing more.

Of course, nothing is 100% certain at the moment, but an iPhone 8 with OLED screen, fingerprint reader integrated into the screen, 3D camera with infrared sensors and other changes, could be difficult to repair elsewhere than at Apple. We must be aware that making such a product is not simple and that there is a chance that Apple will further close the possibilities of third-party repairs.

"It would be great if a machine like that were available to independent repair shops. If we're testing a battery or swapping a screen it would make our lives a lot easier. At the very least, it'd help if Apple open-sourced its diagnostic modes to other people. Imagine if every car we bought, every time you wanted to change the oil you had to take it to the dealer," he added. "It's just not realistic, and it monopolizes aspects of their business that are rarely good for their consumers."
