Apple is officially testing autonomous cars

Contradicting all the rumors that said that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), gave up the development of an autonomous car, or software for autonomous guidance, the US authorities confirm the interest of those from Cupertino. According to the US authorities, those from Apple requested and obtained a permit that allows them to test autonomous cars in California, being in the company of those from Google and many car manufacturers.

30 companies are testing autonomous cars in California at the moment, and Apple's entry among the companies that do this is not at all a surprise. Whether it's a fully autonomous car, or an autonomous guidance system for cars, Apple has all the necessary approvals to do so, at least in California.

Many companies are testing autonomous cars, or autonomous guidance software in California, and last year Apple announced to the authorities that artificial intelligence can play a major role here. Now it seems that we also find out what are the real plans of those from Cupertino, they are actively involved in the development of autonomous cars, or of the software that will help them walk alone on the streets.

Rumors since 2015 suggest that Apple has over 1000 engineers developing an autonomous car, or self-driving software, in various office buildings leased by Apple. Whether Apple will launch an autonomous car or an autonomous guidance software remains to be seen, but it is very clear that there is great interest in launching products in this market segment.
