iPhone X – Better/More expensive screen than Galaxy S8

The iPhone X has a better and more expensive screen than the one used in the Samsung Galaxy S8, the quality costing quite a lot, as the Apple company told us.

iPhone X has a better and more expensive screen than the one used in Samsung Galaxy S8 by the Korean company, the higher price bringing better performance for customers. iPhone X has the best screen ever implemented in a smartphone, according to experts in screens for electronic products, but this component is more expensive than the one used in the Samsung Galaxy S8.

iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S8 both have OLED screens with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, and both components are produced by the Samsung company, Apple having no other solution for its new phone. Although the iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S8 both have OLED screens with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, they benefit from different innovations, the Apple company now having a huge advantage over the Koreans, but it will disappear with Samsung Galaxy S9.

The iPhone X has a screen whose production costs $110, according to IHS, $25 more than the estimated cost of the screen used in the Samsung Galaxy S8 this year. The price difference between the Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone X screens can be due to the different technologies used, but also to the fact that Samsung produces its own screens, so it has much lower costs than if it were to buy from another company.

The iPhone X has this new screen implemented by the Apple company in a major change made towards OLED technology, a few months after the Samsung Galaxy S8 came with a similar change. In the spring, the Samsung Galaxy S8 was the first premium phone with a screen that covered the entire front panel, and the iPhone X had to come with something similar in order not to be forgotten by phone customers.

"The OLED display costs the Cupertino, California, company $110 per unit, compared with $52.50 for the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus screen, which uses an older technology, according to IHS. Samsung Electronics Co. currently supplies OLED panels exclusively to Apple, but the South Korean company pays about $85 per screen for its own Galaxy S8 phone. That device has the same sized screen as the iPhone X, but with a higher resolution."

The iPhone X with this new OLED screen proves that not only Samsung can innovate in this segment, the Samsung Galaxy S8 having the best screen used in a mobile phone in the spring. The iPhone X still came with something better than what we find in the Samsung Galaxy S8, so now the Apple company can boast of the fact that it is also innovating in the segment of OLED screens for smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 was overtaken by the iPhone X 6 months after the release of the Korean company's phone, but the same thing could happen in the summer with the Samsung Galaxy S9. It is expected that then a better screen than the one in the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be implemented in the future phone, and it could surpass even the one in the iPhone X, if Samsung really wants to do something great.
