WhatsApp for iPad is under development

WhatsApp for iPad is in full development at the moment, with a new version of the application being ready for users now.

WhatsApp for iPad is currently in the development process, the American company owned by Facebook creating a tablet version of its well-known application. We are talking about an iPad version of WhatsApp that will allow you to use your tablet to have conversations with various people in our contact list, but in a different way than what we can do now.

WhatsApp can now also be used on the iPad, but we are talking about accessing the WhatsApp Web platform from Safari, or any other browser, so not from a dedicated application. The image below was extracted from a beta version of the WhatsApp application which shows very clearly that there is a version in development that would also work on iPad tablets natively, so with a dedicated interface for them.

WhatsApp on the iPad might still work a little differently than some people would like, meaning that the option to use a phone number to register may not be available. In this idea, it is very possible that WhatsApp will require us to initially register using a mobile phone, and then we can continue using it on the iPad tablet, probably in a similar way to the way WhatsApp Web works.

WhatsApp is by far the most popular social network on the planet, and this means that new functions are constantly being implemented for it, including the iPad version. WhatsApp has gone through rumors in previous years that suggested that an iPad version of the application would be released, so it was normal to see now that such an update is in the works.

WhatsApp is very popular on mobile phones, the number of iPad tablet users not being nearly as high as that of phone users. In this idea, those at WhatsApp could develop an application that will not be that popular, but since they are preparing it, they probably have a pretty good motivation to do it, especially since the platform has slowed down a bit of growth.

WhatsApp needs new users, so it may try to attract some of those who use iPad tablets at the moment, but it may not succeed. What will happen remains to be seen, but based on what we see now, it seems that a version of the WhatsApp application for the iPad will be released sooner rather than later by the American company.
