Instagram, one of the most popular social networks in the world, has as of today a new function available for the applications offered on iPhone and Android. More precisely, we are talking about a function that is intended for users who want to follow the friends they interact with on the network, telling them when they were last active.
Instagram will now display the last time a person was active on the platform, the activity indicator being accessible through the section dedicated to direct messages. The Instagram application will display there information regarding the activity of users in the network, if they are active in the application, or if they were active a certain period of time ago.
Instagram currently displays this information only for the people with whom we communicated through direct messages, so not everyone will have access to this data. The activity indicator is activated automatically for all users, and apart from those with whom we communicated, the people we follow can also see the information.
The rest of the people in the network cannot see the information regarding our status in the network, so we can sit quietly, and if we want we can disable the function from the application's settings menu. Deactivation will hide our activity status from everyone, but at the same time it will also hide all this information from us, the new function being available from today.
