iPhone X Apple Repair Phones Face ID Problems

iPhone X is not immune to problems with Face ID and the new TrueDepth camera, the Apple company announcing today its authorized stores and services about a new way to repair phones affected by facial recognition problems. According to the document sent by the Apple company, those who have to repair iPhone X phones that have problems with Face ID, replacing the main camera could be a solution instead of replacing the units altogether.

Apple says that replacing the iPhone X's main camera could return Touch ID functionality to normal, and service employees must first make a diagnosis to see if this repair is sufficient. If the replacement of the main camera of the iPhone X does not solve the problem with Face ID and the TrueDepth camera, then the complete replacement of the unit is the only solution, and this will be done immediately for the customer who came with the defect.

The iPhone X has the main camera and the front camera linked together to provide Face ID functionality, and this kind of repair has been rumored in the past as a solution for those who cannot use facial recognition. In general, when Face ID stops working, it is very possible that the main camera also stops working, and vice versa, but the connection between them has not been explained by anyone so far.

"Apple has outlined an updated repair process for instances where customers are experiencing issues with Face ID on the iPhone X. Essentially, the document explains that employees should first run a diagnostics test to see if the customer's Face ID issues could be resolved with a rear camera repair. If that doesn't turn out to be the case, the employee should simply perform a whole unit replacement, giving the customer a new phone.

Until now, the Apple company has completely replaced the iPhone X phones whose front cameras refused to work for facial recognition through Face ID, but it seems that things are changing and the procedures are being simplified. Apple has announced this change in the procedure for repairing the iPhone X now, but it remains to be seen how quickly it will arrive in Romania, so in the meantime iPhone X phones may be replaced entirely, if Face ID refuses to still work.
