Google launched today out of the blue a very interesting new feature for mobile phones, some considering it to be the most thought out by the American company in recent months for mobile devices. Google launched the virtual keyboard Gboard for the iPhone a new function that allows the use of Morse code to send messages to friends, something that is considered very interesting by many people who want to send coded messages to friends.

Google knows that not many people know Morse code, so it decided to implement this function in Gboard for those who know and want to communicate in code, the function being launched in Android since May. Google presented it at the I/O conference in May 2018, offered it in the Gboard virtual keyboard for Android, and now the support for Morse code also reaches the iPhone, so users of both platforms can communicate with each other without problems.

Google thought this implementation in the Gboard virtual keyboard so that when the system is activated, all the letters disappear, and instead what you can see in the image above appears. Considering that not everyone knows how to write messages in Morse code, the people from Google display in Gboard including suggestions for the characters that must be entered so that users can write coded messages that only they can read.

"Most technology today is designed for the mass market. Unfortunately, this can mean that people with disabilities can be left behind. Developing communication tools like this is important, because for many people, it simply makes life livable. Now, if anyone wants to try Morse code, they can use the phone in their pocket. Just by downloading an app, anyone anywhere can give communicating with Morse code a try."

Google has also created a special game that teaches Gboard users how to write messages using Morse code, theoretically anyone can learn the language in just an hour, so many people could enjoy the system. Google offers the Gboard virtual keyboard for free to all iPhone and Android users around the world, it is available for download from the App Store and Google Play, so if you are interested in it, you can quickly install it on your terminals.
