iPad remains at the top of the tablet market in Q2 2018 as well, with the Apple company destroying its competition with the sales recorded for the tablet series.

iPad remains the queen of tablets globally and in Q2 2018, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), managing to stay at the top in a market that has been in a continuous decline in sales for some time. iPad had sales of 11.5 million units in Q2 2018, with only 100.000 units more than in Q2 2017, but even so, it registered an increase in market share.

iPad registers in Q2 2018 a market share of 34.9% in the tablet segment, 5 percentage points higher than that registered in Q2 2017 globally. The difference is given by the fact that the tablet market recorded a decrease in sales of 13.5%, and most of Apple's direct competitors were affected by this market contraction.

Apple too Huawei were the only companies that recorded increases in tablet sales in Q2 2018, but in the case of the Chinese the increase was 300.000 units, compared to 100.000 at Apple. Despite this, Apple has sold more than 3 times more tablets than Huawei worldwide, and the Chinese have very little chance of recovering the difference.

Apple did much better than Samsung, which recorded a decrease in sales by 1 million units, and in total it sold more than the rest of the manufacturers outside the TOP 5. The iPad also recorded higher sales than the rest of the top 5 manufacturers , so overall we are talking about extremely good performance for the Apple tablet line.
