This fall the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), getting ready to launch iPhone 9, iPhone 11, and iPhone X Plus for customers from all over the world, the three new phone models bringing a varied range of important changes. The new phone models are so important, that a new study announces that half of the current iPhone users are interested in upgrading to the models that will arrive in stores in September.
Compared to last year, when 25% of iPhone users were interested in buying the new models, in 2018 this percentage increased to 48%, a huge difference for purchase intent. Practically, 2 times more iPhone users are interested in buying iPhone 9, iPhone 11 and iPhone X Plus than in 2017 in the case of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X series, the difference being amazing, especially since last year we talked about a anniversary version of the iPhone.
A LOT of iPhone Users want to Upgrade to the New Models
In the case of Android users who are interested in switching to the iPhone, the purchase intention increased from 12% last year to 19% this year, the difference being substantial here as well. People are even more interested in phones that have integrated augmented reality functions, the percentage reaching 32% compared to 21% last year, and here the difference is quite large, but it is expected that the world will be more interested in new technologies .
"This survey showed a surprisingly high intent to upgrade, suggesting 48% of current iPhone owners intend to upgrade to a newer iPhone in the next year, compared to 25% in June of last year. This 48% is an outlier, and therefore should be tempered (intent to buy vs. actual purchase conversion varies cycle to cycle), but the survey is nevertheless a positive indicator of upcoming iPhone demand."
The very high interest in the iPhone in 2019 is most likely due to the fact that the iPhone 9 and iPhone X Plus will have larger screens than the iPhone X, something that quite a few customers have been waiting for since a few years ago. Moreover, the fact that the new phone models will be sold at prices close to, or even lower than, those of the iPhone X, represents an additional reason for the purchase, but it remains to be seen if the intention to purchase the iPhone will change in sales.
