iOS 12 has today the first official figures regarding the adoption rate provided by the Apple company, the Americans confirming that the success of the operating system is quite high. According to those from Apple, 50% of iDevice users have installed iOS 12 from the moment of launch, and until now, that is, in almost a month since it was put into distribution.
iOS 12 has the adoption rate measured by the Apple company based on the visits made by iDevice users in the AppStore, and something more accurate than that cannot exist. Apart from the 50% of active iDevices that have iOS 12, Apple also stated that 53% of all iDevices sold in recent years have iOS 12 installed, the difference being small.

iOS 11 remained with 39% of active users with iDevices, while older versions of the iOS operating system are still installed on 11% of iDevices. iOS 12 is the first version of Apple's operating system that offers support for phones that are older than 5 years, and this has definitely helped increase the adoption rate.
iOS 12 had a rather difficult start in terms of adoption rate, due to the multiple problems that operating systems have had in the past years. This year iOS 12 seems to be received much better by iDevice users, so it remains to be seen how the adoption rate will evolve in the following months.
