The Romanian Police has prepared the sum of 900.000 euros for the purchase of dozens of drones that will facilitate the operative missions that the authorities will have to carry out in the coming years in Romania to protect the citizens.
The Romanian Police wants these drones to have a minimum flight autonomy of 50 minutes, and to operate within a radius of 5 kilometers, so we are talking about very high-performance drones, clearly superior to commercial ones. More than that, the Romanian Police wants these drones to be able to transmit images in HD format to the computers from which they are controlled, and to have cameras capable of optical zoom up to 30X, without losing much of the quality.

The Romanian Police will finance the purchase of drones from its own budget, and the first offers are expected from the companies next month, so the purchase could take place this year, most likely. The Romanian Police currently has drones that it uses in some missions, but of course it does not have enough to cover what is needed at the national level, so it makes a rather small investment for the equipment.
