Huawei. ANNOUNCEMENT about Harmony OS that takes Customers by SURPRISE

Huawei already announced Harmony OS as a replacement operating system for Android in future phone models that will be launched for customers around the world, but it seems that it will not be limited to that. According to new information that appeared today about Harmony OS, those from Huawei want to implement the operating system in smartwatches as well, and this is because they can no longer use ]Wear OS in these products.

Huawei has also used an operating system called Lite OS in some smartwatch models, but it seems that it wants to use Harmony OS to offer better compatibility with future phones. The Huawei company is obliged by the current situation with the USA to make some moves that it certainly would not have wanted to make in other situations, but in the absence of solutions, it makes the choices that it believes would be the best for its customers.

Huawei. ANNOUNCEMENT about Harmony OS that takes Customers by SURPRISE

Huawei is developing a series of smartwatches at the moment, and it has been known for some time that they will be put on sale very soon, but only now do we know exactly that they will come with Harmony OS, Until now it was believed that these new smartwatches will be delivered with Wear OS, considering that it is a system specially designed for compatibility with Android phones, but Huawei cannot use Google's operating system.

“The company knows that the Wear OS market is shrinking and it is better to come up with its wearable ecosystem that will connect every device. Now, Huawei has ideas with the new Harmony OS system and its configuration with all carriers and smartphones. It's still unclear when we might see the next gadget running on Harmony and how the company will target its customers."

Huawei will launch at least one smartwatch model with the Huawei MATE 30 series, as it did with last year's series, so we can expect to see in about a month what it plans to do. The plans could still be changed, and Harmony OS could be replaced by Wear OS if Google allows the use of this operating system after a decision that the US government could make to allow software licensing.

Huawei will have big problems with the sales of smartwatches if it launches them with Harmony OS outside the US, but it doesn't really have another solution at the moment.
