WhatsApp: Important ALERT for ALL People with Phones

WhatsApp has alerted users all over the world, especially Europe, about a very big problem that everyone needs to know about now.

WhatsApp is at the center of an alert that was issued for people who use the application on phones in various areas of the globe, mainly in Europe, and this is because a new wave of fraud is circulating intensively. This month, WhatsApp users in Spain started receiving fraudulent messages on their phones through which their personal data was stolen by people using the image of a well-known hypermarket chain in the country.

WhatsApp was also used in Great Britain recently to deceive people, only this time people were promised crates of Heineken beer, something that also happened in 2018. Then the well-known beer producer announced that everything was just a scam, and that no crates of beer are offered for free via WhatsApp, but the problem has returned, and the British are very easily tricked into providing information that should never reach the hands of those who ask for it.

WhatsApp is used in both cases to spread deceptive messages by which people are asked for their personal data in order to receive the "prizes" that Heineken and the Mercadona hypermarket chain offer. The personal data of WhatsApp users is required to certify their participation in "competitions", but also to be able to send them "prizes", which of course do not exist in reality, everything being done just to steal people's information.

WhatsApp it is frequently used for fraudsters of this kind, and even the Romanians have not "escaped" problems of this kind, in our country appearing in various times similar problems. The brands of some big companies in Romania were used in campaigns of this kind distributed on WhatsApp, but if you receive a message from anyone telling you that you have won something from a company, check their website to see if there is any contest.

WhatsApp recently imposed a limit on the resending of messages in order to stop scams of this kind, including the distribution of false information regarding the Coronavirus, but the impact is too small.
