Telekom needs the agreement of the Romanian government to sell its fixed services division, considering that the Government is one of the majority shareholders, but the approval has been under analysis for almost a year. Telekom cannot complete its plans to sell its division without the consent of the Romanian Government, in a first phase, and that of the European Commission, in a second phase, but in Romania, and even at the European level, the Coronavirus pandemic has brought other priorities for politicians.

Telekom will sell a division with approximately 4 million customers to Orange, if its plans are approved by the authorities, but at the moment this approval seems to be very far away. All customers will be transferred to Orange, along with the infrastructure, but nothing should change in their lives except the name of the company that provides their services, at least until Orange starts making changes to the infrastructure and services.
Telekom he is also looking to sell his mobile services division, but he did not have much success here because RCS & RDS did not want to take over the clients, and nothing is known about the negotiations with the other interested parties. It is possible that Telekom will remain in Romania only with the mobile services division from 2020 or 2021, but even for this there is a desire to sell, so we just have to see how things will develop and according to the plans of the Romanian authorities.
Telekom tried to obtain the sale approval from the Romanian Government in 2019, those from Orange also tried, but each time there were other priorities for the governors.
