Nelu Tataru, the Minister of Health, offers an explanation for the decision to reopen restaurants in the context that today we had 1500 new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus, a real record recorded so far in Romania.
Nelu Tataru explains below the details behind this very important decision, and thanks to it, not only the restaurants will be reopened, but also the theaters or the cinemas, all in the conditions where the situation in Romania is getting worse day by day.
"As you know, starting from May 15 there were some relaxation measures, with some application rules in order to carry out and operate these activities that were relaxed. June 1st and 15th had other, gradual measures that we could control as the spread and July 1st, which went with an increased number of cases, precisely due to non-compliance with these rules and then we could no longer make relaxations.
Beyond these increases, I want to mention that on April 23, when we had the highest number of cases in the first phase, 523 (on April 23, 386 new cases of illness were registered, ed.), we were in a context in which we had 4.500 tests. Today we have 1.500 cases for 25.000 tests."
