The Romanian government online frauds of the week

The Government of Romania, through the CERT-RO institution, which it subordinates, presents us today some of the most important frauds that are spreading in the online environment at the moment, so that we know how to beware of them in order not to be deceived by those who try to steal our data.

The Romanian government presents below a varied range of fraud methods from the online environment, they are widely distributed by some Romanians who do not know that they should not send these types of fraud attempts to their friends, and not only that, because they put them in serious danger.

"The CERT-RO team offers you a new column: SCAMS OF THE WEEK.

We often receive by mail, at call centers and especially on social media, numerous notifications from the public regarding certain #scam or #phishing campaigns. Thus, as we investigate to take the necessary steps to disable them, we will collect them to alert other users of their existence as well.

So, below you have some screenshots of attempts to defraud users, notified to or identified by the CERT-RO team. Do not give in to such malicious attempts!

#hoax message circulating on #WhatsApp: app will become 'paid' (spread on WhatsApp)
The #Microsoft account will be closed if you do not validate the credentials (email propagation)
Fake RDS customer loyalty program (propagation on compromised sites, via pop-up pages)
#phishing e-mail that uses the visual identity of the Post Office (courier service scam, propagated via e-mail).
Scam on #Facebook with fake notifications (in the form of posts appearing on NewsFeed) that Facebook is going to deactivate your account (propagation via Facebook)."
