Nelu Tataru made a very important announcement that many Romanians had been waiting for until now, the Minister of Health finally providing details on how the recent restrictions have, or not, made their effects felt, and according to him, there is a stabilization in terms of the number of new cases.
Nelu Tataru says that in Romania the 1st and 2nd waves have come very close and that is why we are now talking about a stabilization of the situation, but things will not be the same in a few weeks, when a new massive increase could take place, especially since the parliamentary elections will take place in the very near future.
"We brought wave one closer to wave two. We are in a phase of stabilizing the number of cases at a maximum of 9.000 - 10.000, as we have seen in the last week. But, at the same time, we are also in the phase where we manage cases that end up in Intensive Care. These are the cases that appeared, let's say, as new cases 10-14 days ago and got worse.
Throughout this pandemic, we had moments when the intensive care beds in Bucharest were occupied, we directed them to the territory or neighboring counties, where there were places. Intensive Care is a department where there is a continuous dynamic."
