Bucharest Restriction measures Sector 5

In recent days, Bucharest has been at the center of discussions regarding the imposition of restrictive measures to prevent the total quarantine of the capital during the following days, but before a decision of the Municipal Committee for Emergency Situations, one was taken in the Sector 5.

The citizens of Bucharest's Sector 5 are the first to be affected by restrictive measures aimed at preventing the spread of the Coronavirus, but it is possible that others will be imposed at the level of the entire capital in the following days by the authorities.

"DISTRICT 5 TOWN HALL TAKES SOME MEASURES TO PREVENT TOTAL QUARANTINE
Following the meeting that the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone had during this week with the Prime Minister of Romania, Florin Cîțu and the other mayors of the sectors and following the call made today, March 24, 2021, by President Klaus Iohannis to the local authorities to come up with additional restrictions, the mayor of Sector 5 ordered several measures, to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to prevent a total quarantine of the Capital.
According to the latest information from the Strategic Communication Group, in Bucharest, the 14-day incidence rate reached 6,37 cases per thousand inhabitants. In order to protect the health of the citizens of Sector 5 and beyond, the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone ordered that starting tomorrow, March 25, 2021 and until April 11, 2021, the schedule of economic agents within the sector will be reduced, as follows:
- MONDAY - FRIDAY - malls, hypermarkets, supermarkets, terraces, car services, laundromats, etc. will be open between 07.00 and 19.00
– SATURDAY – SUNDAY – malls, hypermarkets, supermarkets, terraces, car services, laundries, etc. will be open between 07.00 and 15.00.
The pharmacy schedule will not be affected. They will operate according to normal hours, and 24-hour pharmacies will continue to operate 24 hours a day. Gas stations will also operate according to normal hours.
The schedule of the agro-food markets within Sector 5 will change as follows:
– MONDAY – FRIDAY – 07.00 – 17.00
– SATURDAY – SUNDAY – 07.00 – 15.00
The playgrounds will remain open daily until 19.00.
Regarding school courses, the Town Hall of Sector 5 will continue to provide the necessary products to limit the spread of COVID-19, namely: protective masks for students and teachers and disinfectants. The City Hall cannot order the suspension of classes, this falls under the attributions of the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest.
The Local Police of Sector 5 will carry out checks throughout the sector to ensure that economic agents comply with the measures included in the provision issued by the Mayor of Sector 5. Those who will not carry out the rules imposed by this provision will have their operating authorization suspended and will be sanctioned according to law.
"We do not want the total quarantine of the Capital. It is important to try to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible without affecting daily life too much. I appeal to all citizens of Sector 5 to show civic spirit. Let's respect these measures, because, only in this way, the number of illnesses will decrease, and the central authorities will not have to impose a total quarantine as far as Bucharest is concerned.", said the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone."
