DSU Romania is preparing for a new wave of COVID-19

DSU Romania is preparing for a new wave of COVID-19 that is expected to hit Romania in the next period, the authorities in our country trying to help people understand why they should protect themselves during this period, but also the authorities to ensure compliance the rules.

"Today, December 14, 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a video conference was held chaired by the Secretary of State, the head of the DSU Dr. Raed Arafat and the director general of the General Directorate of Medical Emergencies within the DSU, Dr. Călin Alexandru, with the heads of all structures emergency at the national level, respectively, within the IGSU, the Inspectorates for County Emergency Situations, the CNCCI, the Emergency Reception Units, the Ambulance Services.

The topics discussed focused on actions regarding the preparation of the emergency sector in the event of a possible new wave of increases in cases of COVID-19 among communities, which could automatically put pressure, once again, on the entire health system.

At the end of the videoconference, the head of the DSU, Dr. Raed Arafat, thanked all the staff of all emergency structures for the considerable and sustained efforts made in managing the difficult situation generated by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Also, thanks were addressed to the medical staff of the Emergency Reception Units, who responded promptly and efficiently to a real critical situation, materialized by a hard 4th wave of the pandemic, managing to be a real undisputed support both for the health sector as well as for patients.

At the same time, the head of the DSU thanked the IGSU, an institution on the front line in the fight against COVID-19 and which, through the technical means and human resources made available, facilitated the distribution in the shortest possible time of several equipment and medical products immediately needed to the institutions involved in the management of the pandemic."
