WhatsApp, the largest messaging platform in the whole world, was these days at the center of extremely important decisions that were announced by the Facebook company, Meta, in relation to it, and they are not exactly big surprises. More precisely, those from Facebook, Meta, have decided that they need to extract as much money as possible from WhatsApp, so they are starting to do it from the companies that use the platform to communicate with customers, and not only that.
For years, WhatsApp has been at the center of some plans by Facebook, Meta, to monetize as well as possible the largest messaging platform in the whole world, and this will not change soon, as we already know very well. WhatsApp's attention is currently focused on companies that have money and want to pay for its services, but this will definitely change in the not too distant future, unfortunately for us.
WhatsApp: Facebook's MAJOR Decision That Will Upset Many People
WhatsApp will eventually end up displaying ads for users around the world who use the platform every day, and with 2 billion in number, there is enough potential to generate many billions of dollars annually from us. It is not yet known when exactly WhatsApp could implement large-scale advertising within its messaging application, but at least for the status section there have been plans for this for a long time.
WhatsApp needs to make money from its users because there are very high costs of supporting the infrastructure on which the platform operates, so funding for it needs to come from somewhere. The only solution that Facebook and Meta have found is based on advertisements, or adjacent services for companies that are active within WhatsApp, but much depends on how this major change will be carried out in the future.
WhatsApp has very big plans regarding the monetization of its application, so it remains to be seen how much it will bother us what the American company intends to do in the coming years in relation to its platform.
