Huawei: Google's totally UNEXPECTED decision for the New Android 13

Huawei Totally UNEXPECTED Decision Google New Android 13

Huawei is, in an extremely surprising way, in the center of attention with the launch of Android 13, and this in the context in which the Chinese company has a ban on the implementation of Google services that come as part of the operating system. Despite this, Google announced that they will integrate in Android 13 a technology that was initially created by Huawei, and we are talking about the EROFS system for files stored in phones.

Huawei developed this system for managing files, and Android 13 will require its use on all phones that will install this version of the operating system at the factory, regardless of which manufacturer they come from, in the end. Android 13 will use EROFS as a predefined read-only system for phone files, a Huawei engineer created it years ago, and it has great benefits compared to other similar systems.

Through this system, Huawei has managed to reduce the space occupied by files by compressing them much more efficiently, but we are also talking about increasing the speed with which files are read, so Android 13 will benefit fully from these improvements when it is released. Huawei created this system to be included in the Linux kernel, and this happened starting with version 5.4, but it is also used in millions of the company's phones, as well as those of other companies.

Android 13 will use this Huawei system for the read-only partitions of the phone's storage media, such as the operating system partition, for example, the compression and performance benefits being extremely important. As we told you above, only phones that will be manufactured with Android 13 preinstalled will have this system developed by Huawei, so current phones will not benefit from it.

Android 13 should be released by the Google company somewhere around the end of the summer, or the beginning of the fall, so only the phones produced and released after that moment will benefit from the software improvements thought by Huawei.
