The Minister of Education: Last Hour, First Measures for Romanian Schools

The Minister of Education announces an extremely important first for schools all over Romania, a measure that has been announced for some time, but which has only now been adopted by the Government, and based on it, even students from private schools will be awarded for school performance .

The Minister of Education also says that the prizes offered by the state authorities, as well as the local ones, will increase, and they will be offered in tandem, with the financial support of both parties for all the students in our country who need this kind of support. during this period.

"A third thing that encourages performance: it is for the first time that the Government has adopted a measure by which the performance of students at international Olympiads is recognized regardless of the school where it comes from. It is recognized by awarding performance scholarships. For the first time in private schools.

There are students who represent Romania, there are students who deserve state recognition for the high level at which they represent Romania regardless of whether they come from the state pre-university education system or the private pre-university education system.

A fourth measure is the creation of the legal framework so that the local authorities, beyond the budget resources that will be allocated as I specified in the first three points, will have the legal possibility to contribute to increasing the value of these awards. The minimum value is provided by the state, local authorities will have legal basis to increase the value of these awards and scholarships. These are the measures to support performance.

Also at the level of pre-university education, we adopted a very necessary thing, the deadlines for pre-university education units for accreditation, in the conditions where we all know, the complicated things generated by the health crisis are extended until the end of the 2022-2023 school year. This, about pre-university education, to which I would also add the possibility of enrolling students from Ukraine without taking the national assessment exam, by way of exception, on places that are in addition to the places intended for Romanian students.

It is a way of support for those Ukrainian children who want to continue their high school studies in Romanian education. The second section is university education. The Ministry of Education launched the call worth 234 million euros for the digitalization of universities, supporting the digitalization of processes in universities, supporting the training of digital skills among students, teachers, researchers and auxiliary teaching staff in universities."
