New Funds for Romania from the European Commission Announced by the Romanian Government

New Funds Romania European Commission Announced Romanian Government

The Government of Romania announces today an update of the partnership agreement between Romania and the European Commission through which our country is offered 31.5 billion euros in the form of European funds until 2027 through the Cohesion Policy, and you can find more details in the press release below.

I received today's announcement from the European Commission with confidence in Romania's development prospects. Through the updated Partnership Agreement, our country will benefit from 2027 billion euros of European funds from the Cohesion Policy until 31,5.

Together with the 13,6 billion euros of national co-financing, we will have more than 45 billion euros available for investment projects in the direction of economic, social and territorial cohesion, as well as for the green and digital transition.

I welcome the European Commission's decision, which I consider a signal of confidence and support for Romania's priorities. We respond with responsibility to the gesture of European solidarity. We are prepared to manage the allocated amounts transparently and as efficiently as possible.

Every citizen will be able to watch online, in real time, on the website .... , how European money is spent. We cut red tape, adapt legislation and support local communities to take their fate into their own hands. In contrast to the previous budget exercise, from now on local authorities will have a decisive say in the prioritization of projects, so that disadvantaged areas are more strongly supported to recover the development gaps.

At the government level, we have approved all the documentation to access this money. The experience so far helps us to support an alert pace of attracting European funding, by reducing the deadlines for the following stages: the launch of operational programs and project calls. I appeal to the potential beneficiaries to prepare their projects in time, because all sectors of activity need funding like oxygen.

If we also take into account the funds we will benefit from through the PNRR, the funding through other European policies and the amounts we can continue to spend from the previous budget year, we have a total of 90 billion euros to invest in areas of interest major for Romanians.

From health and transport, to employment, combating poverty, eliminating development gaps and, at the same time, supporting the prospects of evolution towards a competitive and innovative economy. #BaniiEuropeniSchimbăVieți and accelerate the modernization and development of Romania.
