The Government of Romania Talks about the Measures taken for the Romanians

The Romanian government talks below about the very important measures taken for the millions of citizens throughout the country, measures that are meant to help people get through the difficult period our country is going through at the moment, with all the details below.

"The Government's priority throughout this period was to protect citizens and the economy from the effects of the crises we are going through. The government packages "Support for Romania" will continue to be implemented, but also improved, following the meetings we have with the business environment.

I am convinced that the new Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade will succeed in providing the necessary support to Romanian exporting companies to develop their businesses on the European and international markets. At the same time, the prospects offered by our accession to Schengen and OECD will open new opportunities for our entrepreneurs, which we are ready to support further.

Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă met, at the Victoria Palace, with the delegation of the National Association of Exporters and Importers from Romania (ANEIR), which included representatives of ANEIR member companies and member associative structures of the Romanian Export Council.

The main theme addressed during the meeting was the issue of reducing the trade balance deficit, in the context in which the trade deficit for the first 8 months of 2022 increased by 7,381 billion euros, to 22 billion euros, against the background of a strong increase in the cost of energy resources and of the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation.

During the discussions, the Prime Minister emphasized the concern of the Executive to support Romanian producers and vulnerable categories of citizens and reminded that Romania will be the sixth EU beneficiary of the funds allocated through REPowerEU, the European Commission's plan aimed at ensuring Europe's independence from fossil fuels in Russia and accelerate the green transition."
