Nicolae Ciuca Announces New Government Measures for Romania

Nicolae Ciuca, the Prime Minister of Romania, officially announced today the project of a new budget rectification, the last one for the year 2022, but also support measures for the field of agriculture in our country, and below you have all the details of the official announcement that was made during this day.

We completed, at the level of the Government, the project of a new budget rectification, the last of this year, so as to ensure the fulfillment of all commitments regarding the co-financing of European projects, but also the payment of salary rights and social benefits. We are also considering providing the necessary funds to support farmers whose crops have been affected by the drought.

The revenues of the general consolidated budget continue the upward trend, and the budget deficit is decreasing. We also have economic growth even in the current particularly complicated situation. European evaluation institutions place Romania in the first places in terms of economic progress in the third quarter as well, which gives confidence to investors.

We are still working on the draft budget for next year. We continue to support and give confidence to the business sector, to investments, because this is how we can maintain and create jobs and widen the financial framework that will allow us to analyze the increase in the minimum wage and pensions, so that the citizens of the country do not bear the effects of inflation at all.

Through government measures, we continue to support agriculture, a sector with an important contribution to the Romanian economy, and farmers who are facing problems due to the effects generated by Russian aggression in Ukraine.

We have approved a support measure for operators in the milling industry, oils, dairy products and farm animal feed.

The Ministry of Agriculture will make available to these producers grants of up to 500.000 euros to offset the increase in costs related to raw material stocks, transport, storage and processing. The total value of the program is 200 million euros.

It is another measure by which we support the agricultural sector to overcome this complicated period and maintain its substantial share in the economy.
