The Minister of Health is speaking officially for Romanians throughout the country about a series of extremely important decisions that the Government of Romania takes for the people from various corners of the country, and this is because we are talking about the fulfillment of the requests made by the health unions in order not to resort to a general strike.
The Minister of Health explains below what is happening from this point of view, and this is because urgent measures are needed for the situation in the medical system to return to normal as soon as possible, all because things are very far from the normal that a lot of people want him.
"However, we work in parallel, because we can't just make investments, we don't want museums, for the new structures, the new hospitals to become museums, but we work very seriously together with the universities of medicine and pharmacy, so that these structures benefit from qualified personnel. It is the main challenge.
I think it is at least as important as the investments, to be able to solve the problem of qualified human resources to work in these medical institutions within 4-5 years, which is how long it will take for all these projects to become operational. I don't have an answer for you, that we are not discussing an average increase, we are discussing other types of claims, we are discussing the collective bargaining agreement.
We are discussing the holiday vouchers, which are financed separately, so that they no longer burden the hospital budget, are distributed fairly, we are discussing new employment in the health system, you know, on the basis of a memorandum and, please, to what you mean I don't have an exact amount, but it's about bringing to the so-called annexes A2, which includes the auxiliary staff of the health system, from the health system and from other systems.
But especially from the health system, at the level of the salary value from 2022. They were forgotten and now this repair is being done. Salaries. So, I explained to you that the reparation related to the auxiliary staff was legislated today by the approval of the emergency ordinance, what you are referring to, namely the payment of various increments to the on-call staff.
Or for the personnel who work shifts at the actual salary from this period, not at the salary from 2018, as happened in recent years, they can only have a transitory solution, until the appearance of the new salary law, which eliminates this discrimination, we grope the most good solutions where we can have a solution for them, for each of the categories."
