Backgrounder svn.r432-1 update

backgrounder is an application that allows you to do multitasking pe iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch by adding the permission to run applications in the background, using mobilesubstrates. I warn you from now on that backgrounder it is an extremely energy-hungry application, so installing and using it will have an extremely large impact on battery autonomy.

Backgrounder svn.r432-1 is the last official update available for this application, lately several beta versions have been appearing and the developers have finally decided to release the final version of the application.

Here's the changelog for Backgrounder svn.r432-1 :

  • The settings menu has been completely rewritten;
  • Now you can create a list with your own settings;
  • You can add an icon in the Status Bar that warns you when you have an application open in the background;
  • An option was added to close applications that do native multitasking: Safari, iPod/etc;
  • Now you can choose between using the iPhone OS application closing method or Backgrounder multitasking;
  • A button was added to reset the application settings to their original form;
  • The "Minimize on Toggle" option was added, which minimizes a certain application but leaves it open in the background;
  • A bug concerning the display of the badge for open applications on the iPad was fixed;
  • Now the settings can be seen correctly in landscape mode on the iPad;
  • The "Fallback to Native" option has been added: when it is set to ON, applications that do native multitasking will use this function; when it is set to OFF, these applications will be closed automatically.

An impressive changelog, many improvements brought to the application backgrounder, it was also time. Unfortunately backgrounder represents a compromise to do multitasking, a compromise between performance/battery autonomy in exchange for the possibility to do multitasking and I for one can't wait for it to appear iPhone OS 4.0 cu multitasking native that does not consume so many resources.

  1. sorry, if I delete backgrounder, does that mean that there is no trace of mobilesubstrates left? and the autonomy of the battery returns to before backgrounder was installed?

  2. @zaoane: I understand .. I don't install it anymore ... I'm waiting maybe something else will come out ... that's how a friend jailbroken me and it seems to me that the battery lasts less. it is also coded that I have 3g 3.1.3 with baseband 05.12.01 and bootloader 05.09 😐 well at least I bought it cheap and I use it as an ipod :))

  3. @drX: It's ok, it's easier to press the button called "Answer" and the quote is inserted automatically. In OS 4, there will be official multitasking, so it will be another matter.

  4. @damn: yes .. .what dobies are ... it works normally .. I bought an unlock for 05.12.01 from a website that said they had it available .. and after I paid they said that after OS 4.0 appears it will give me the unlock .. that I have to upgrade .. etc :-j

  5. @damn: yes, I know it appears for free .. I'd be crazy if I didn't have a phone 🙂 and I still don't :))... how can you say it... I didn't really pay out of my pocket .. if you understand me 😀

  6. @drX: They have no way to remove anything because those sites live off Dev Team/geohot. Those who have the respective sites do not have the faintest idea of how to make a jailbreak/decoding software.

  7. @damn: Keep calm zaone .. I'm joking too ;)) you don't destroy anything .. I spent 6 million on my iphone about 2 months ago .. it was decoded it worked but I didn't have a jailbreak on it .. and I didn't really know how to use it. .and I gave it to a friend who jailbroken me but I lost the decoding 🙂
