Nikon will produce the first digital camera that incorporates Thunderbolt technology

Thunderbolt technology has just been launched by Intel, it is available in the new MacBook Pros and promises transfer speeds, between compatible products, of up to 10 Gbps for files. LaCie made the first product that incorporates Thunderbolt technology and we are talking about a backup system made up of several high-capacity hard disks on which users can store important information from their own Macs. Nikon will be the second manufacturer to Incorporates Thunderbolt technology in the future D4 camera series, so you won't have to wait tens of minutes to transfer video clips in 1080p format to your computers.

For high-performance cameras, this technology is a must have considering that some long video clips can occupy up to several GB or even several short but good quality video clips can occupy the same space. It is not yet known when the new cameras will be available, but it is good that the manufacturers are starting to implement the technology, now it remains to be seen at what prices the products will be available.
