What matters most to you when buying an iOS game?

We discussed the importance application icons now I think it's time to discuss something a little more serious, the games for iOS. I don't think there is an iDevice owner who hasn't played at least one game on their own terminal, but I know there are a few Romanians who actually buy them. Lately, game developers are trying to improve the graphics of their creations to the detriment of the gameplay. The best example is Infinity Blade, which in terms of graphics excelled, but in terms of gameplay, only recently some elements were introduced that make it attractive, but only on the multiplayer side. Unfortunately, the main gameplay focuses on the same repetitive style of killing monsters and reaching the big "boss".

For me, a good game is not limited only to extraordinary graphics, but also to a suitable gameplay. I like very well made games from a graphic point of view, but without a decent gameplay I quickly get bored of them. On the other hand, not a few times I chose to play certain games that did not have exceptional graphics, but the gameplay attracted me and kept me busy. I always put the gameplay above the graphics and when I'm interested in a game I always give it a few minutes to see if it's really worth playing or not, even if it has some shortcomings. Unfortunately, on the iOS platform, you can hardly tell how a game looks just from the description and the images published there, because many developers lie and post images that are not really representative. More than once I have seen games that seemed to be great but turned out to be total crap and unfortunately Apple is not doing anything to solve this problem.

In conclusion, for me the gameplay matters most in a game and I prefer to have the opportunity to test it before buying it. What do you think matters most in an iOS game?
