Almost two months ago, Apple presented to the whole world Siri, a so-called personal assistant that is able to write after dictation and understand certain voice commands spoken by users. Since then and until now, everyone has seen Siri as a program that is not needed, as a limited program, unable to understand all the languages spoken on the globe, to perform searches in any country and to take really useful commands. Well, everything is due to the limitations imposed by Apple and yes, Siri is largely useless in Romania, but all this will change in the future.
With the help of a proxy hack, Siri can be used to control any electronic device capable of connecting to a Wi-Fi network. So far it has been demonstrated that Siri is able to: control a thermostat, to control a car, to control curtains and fans in an automated home, to control a TV and to control an application. Practically, Siri is capable of extremely many things, but the community of users of Apple products was the one that brought to light the functionality of Siri and not Apple. Although the programs that allow these things to be done are public, for now not everyone can use them because they are intended only for "professionals". This will change in the future and either Apple will give us the possibility to control everything through Siri, or those programs will be remade so that they can be used by anyone.
Siri is an extremely advanced personal assistant, although many do not recognize this and with its help we can control almost anything, the problem is that Apple must offer these functions to everyone and not hackers. In the future, I think that the native Siri in iOS will contain many more functions implemented by Apple itself, but the community must put pressure on the company to have them at hand.
