The Samsung Galaxy S II is submitted by several sites as the smartphone of 2011 and all this a month before the year actually ends. If we look at things objectively, the choice is good, but for the simple fact that it is the only correct one. The iPhone 4 could not be chosen as the phone of the year (it won the title in 2010 and it was an old product anyway), the iPhone 4S could not be chosen because it was only released in October and stood out mainly because of Siri and a lot of problems and there are no other Android terminals that deserve the title.
This year the Samsung Galaxy S II is the smartphone of the year because it is more powerful than the iPhone 4 in terms of performance and because Apple delayed the release of the iPhone 4S by 4 months, so it gave the S II enough time to "take place" on the market. If the iPhone 4S had been released in June 2011, maybe things would have been different, but from my point of view, the Galaxy S II deserves the title won this year.
As a consolation for Apple, the iPad 2 was chosen as the tablet of the year 2011 but also the product of the year 2011 and the 13-inch MacBook Air was chosen as the laptop of the year 2011.
