iPhone 6S – 1.8 GHz dual-core processor and 2 GB RAM

iPhone 6S processor 1.8 GHz 2 GB RAMiPhone 6S with 1.8 GHz dual-core processor and 2 GB RAM was certified by the Chinese government authority TENAA for sale in China starting from October 25, the terminal not having the triple-core processor that many people were expecting.

iPhone 6S si 6S iPhone Plus were expected with a A9 chip which has a triple-core processor and 2 GB RAM, but it seems that Apple chose to implement only an increase in the frequency of the old processor and that's it, so it remains to be seen what kind of performance the two devices will offer.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have processors clocked at 1.4 GHz and offer almost halved performance compared to the iPad Air 2 which has a triple-core processor, so if the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have a dual-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, then it is unlikely that their performances will be up to 70% better.

Of course, there is also the possibility that TENAA got the specifications wrong considering that next to the amount of RAM, the value of 4 MB is specified instead of those 2 GB already discovered in Xcode, so there are still hopes for the performance of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

It's hard for me to believe that doubling the RAM and increasing the processor frequency can bring a 70% increase in performance for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus compared to the old terminals, but if this turns out to be true, then we have anyway reasons to be happy.

What do you think about the apparent choice made by the Apple company?
