GMail is the most used electronic mail service, email, company Google announcing that it has no less than 1 billion monthly active users worldwide, the achievement being truly impressive considering the competition in this segment.
The announcement was made last night when the financial results for Q4 2015 were presented, Google's having such impressive achievements that the value of its stock market capitalization increased so much that surpassed that of Apple.
In May, those from Google announced that GMail has 900 million monthly active users, so the user base has increased by 100 million users in 8 months, the growth rate seriously decreasing compared to what was recorded in the years previous ones.
GMail is the seventh Google service that exceeds 1 billion monthly active users, the first being Search, Chrome, Android, Google Play, Maps and YouTube, so GMail enters a very select list of Google products that are used by an extremely large number of large number of people.
