3 billion people use the internet every year according to a study published during this day, this figure not including the number of users in India, in this country there are still 277 million users, so we are talking about 3.27 billion internet users globally.
As you can see in the graph below, from 2008 to 2015 the number of users of Internet has doubled globally, approaching half of the total population of the planet, the Internet penetration rate being 42% at the end of 2015.
It can be seen quite clearly that we are talking about a fairly linear growth from one year to the next, the year 2009 having the highest growth among all these 7 years in which the reports were recorded, but the number of users continues to grow in constantly.
As the technology became cheaper and cheaper and Android smartphones were sold at lower prices, the number of users of the services also increased. Internet worldwide, the world having easier access to information from almost anywhere.
If this trend continues, then by 2020 we will have approximately 5 billion internet users worldwide, a colossal number if we consider that at the moment there are only 3.27 billion users globally.
