A student made a gadget that can detect fonts and colors

Fiona O'Leary, a student at the Royal College of Art, developed a prototype called Spector, so that it can capture any font and color in the world.

If, for example, she is excited about the background of the London subway map, and wants to know what background it is, she uses Spector to directly capture that background and upload it to Adobe InDesign. Spector takes a photo of the font and uses an algorithm to translate that image into information about the shape of the letters and symbols. Spector also captures colors and then "translates" them into RGB CMYK values.

There are already font identification tools, but not in a physical gadget. Spector is not yet available for sale, but it will definitely pass the prototype stage and be put on sale.
