The 5 Gbps 5G networks are already being tested

Although in Romania the tests for the implementation of 4.5G networks with speeds up to 1 Gbps, here in the USA tests are being made for 5 Gbps 5G networks, those from AT&T starting such a test in a region of the country, promising to offer Internet browsing speeds that are not available even for fixed lines.

Those from Verizon have already demonstrated speeds of 1.8 Gbps through mobile phone networks, and now those from AT&T are counterattacking with their own project designed to offer their customers Internet browsing speeds that are more than 2 times higher, or the at least this is the mission of the US mobile phone operator.

AT&T has successfully completed laboratory tests for its 5G network and will soon begin in Austin, Texas, the first real-world tests to demonstrate that they have technology capable enough to offer customers the ability to surf the Internet at speeds up to 5Gbps, in a few years.

The first 5G network could be launched in 2017

Between AT&T and Verizon there is great competition on many levels, and this motivates the companies to invest a lot of money in the development of telecom infrastructure in the US, with end users having a lot to gain, especially if the 5G networks will arrive there faster than in other areas of on the planet.

Despite the fact that tests are just beginning to be done in the real world in the US, it is estimated that a mobile phone operator will launch the first 5G network locally by the end of 2019, with others to be launched in 2019, and we are probably talking about extremely limited availability in the first phase.

The big problem with these networks lies in the fact that they will be extremely expensive at the beginning, that is, their use will cost much more than normal, and the data traffic required to use them will be much higher, so in the end users may have to pay more to use them.
